Anne Alstott (tax) at Yale Law School has accepted a senior offer from Harvad Law School. The HLS press release is here.
(Thanks to David Lat for sending me the link. His comments on the hire are here)
UPDATE: This is a particularly important appointment for Harvard because of its distinguished but graying tax faculty (William Andrews recently retired, and Alvin Warren and Daniel Halperin are in their 60s and 70s), and the difficulty HLS has faced in trying to dislodge other leading tax scholars of Alstott's generation, such as Daniel Shaviro at NYU and David Weisbach at Chicago. My impression is that tax has become an area where there is now very intense competition for the top talent among the elite law schools.
