Jeremy Waldron, who has made many important contributions to political and legal philosophy, and who is currently a University Professor at Columbia Law School, has accepted a senior offer from New York University School of Law. He is the third senior faculty member to move downtown in the last year. His move will also help sustain NYU's position as the strongest law school in jurisprudence in the U.S. (Waldron still has a senior offer from Harvard Law School, so prospective students may want to keep their ears open on that score.) Columbia will, though, continue to have a strong presence in jurisprudence and philosophy of law, with Joseph Raz (who is roughly half-time), Kent Greenawalt, and George Fletcher, among others.
